Who we are

A dream born of love for birds and the land

In Tángara Real, we are a Natural Reserve that has been under active and passive restoration for 17 years and is part of the buffer zone of Los Nevados-PNN National Park, constituting part of an important biological corridor for the conservation and protection of biodiversity such as: reptiles, insects, birds, mammals (guatines, armadillos and squirrels, etc.) and birds.

Located in a natural paradise, we offer our visitors the opportunity to reconnect with the essential, enjoying the biodiversity of the Colombian territory and participating in unique experiences of bird watching, hiking and local culture.

La TANGARA REAL ECO LODGING is the ideal place to live a unique and unforgettable experience, where you can rest and enjoy nature, spending a few nights of deep and restful sleep, accompanied by the sound of the Combeima River and a wonderful awakening accompanied by the chirping of birds. We have a trail framed by native vegetation, which from its highest part we can contemplate the Combeima River.

Our History

Tángara Real was born from the dream of a family passionate about nature, birds and the desire to share the beauty of our environment with the world.

We started with a small private reserve that gradually became a destination for bird watching enthusiasts. Today, we have become a benchmark for eco-tourism in the region, conserving the environment and working hand in hand with the local community.

Every corner of our reserve tells a story, and every visitor who accompanies us becomes part of it.

Nature for all

More than just a place to stay, we are a model of inclusion, education and community conservation.

At Tángara Real Eco Lodging we not only promote ecotourism, but we also lead a model of inclusive sustainability in the central Andes of Colombia.

  • We guarantee access to nature to people with disabilitiesand rural communities and rural students.

  • We implemented accessible trails, audio guides, Braille signage, acoustic bird monitoring and rainwater harvesting systems.

  • We promote energy autonomy with solar plants and safe water filtration for the community.

  • We encourage the leadership of rural youth and women as local environmental stakeholders.

Mission

Imagine a place where everyone - regardless of their visual or hearing ability, mobility or economic situation - can fully experience nature, learn from it and become its defenders. This proposal seeks to consolidate a three-hectare space in the heart of the Colombian Andes as a replicable model of sustainability,
inclusion and conservation, which combines technology, ecology with community education, nature tourism and universal access to biodiversity.

Vision

Tangara Real Eco Lodging SAS's mission is to develop a sustainable, inclusive and accessible Nature Tourism; to educate and raise awareness in the community; to conserve and protect biodiversity; to promote bird watching and rural lodging.
